Travella™ 20 SG is an insecticide containing the active ingredient dinotefuran which controls insect pests such as leaf-feeding beetles, mealybugs, scales, and whiteflies by overexciting their nervous systems. It is a valuable tool in the management of invasive pests such as Hemlock woolly adelgid, glassy-winged sharpshooter, and spotted lanternfly. Formulated as a soluble granule, Travella works through contact, translaminar, and systemic activity to provide long-lasting residual control. Travella is labeled for use on ornamental plants grown in nurseries, greenhouses, interior and outdoor landscapes, tree plantations and forests. It can also be used on certain greenhouse-grown vegetable transplants.
The active ingredient in Travella 20 SG, dinotefuran, is in the neonicotinoid class of insecticides. It is unique because of its high solubility and strong systemic activity, meaning it quickly enters the plant’s vascular system and readily moves throughout the plant’s tissues. Because it is so soluble, dinotefuran can be used as a foliar spray, soil drench, or basal trunk spray to provide control of pests, even on large woody plant material like mature trees. Drench applications can provide significant residual control for up to three months. The application flexibility, along with a broad spectrum of efficacy has led to dinotefuran becoming an important management tool in the fight against invasive species. POLLINATOR SAFETY
When applying Travella 20 SG, it is important to follow all label instructions to minimize the risk of exposure to bees and other pollinators. As best practices, do not make applications while bees are actively foraging and do not apply to plants that are flowering.
